Welcome
Agriculture is the science and art of food production through the cultivation of plants and the rearing and care of animals. Although farmers make up a modest 2% of the US population, there is an extensive support network of determined researchers, extensionists, teachers, and pubic employees working nonstop to ensure “homegrown” food security. As a result of their efforts, we enjoy a bountiful, diverse, and inexpensive selection of agricultural products year-round.
The agricultural industry is the sum total of the farmers, researchers, and educators keeping the business of agriculture viable. Here at NSU, we recognize that agriculture and business naturally complement one another. As a result, we offer a degree in Agricultural Business.
The agriculture program supports experiential learning, in other words, “learning by doing”. We’re fortunate to have exceptional teaching facilities on and off campus. However, remember that student life isn’t all about work. Many of our students join the agriculture club for fun and camaraderie.
Agriculture is a dynamic and vibrant industry. Whether you’re interested in employment or in furthering your education, our program will orient you in the right direction. I invite you to explore all of the opportunities that a degree in agricultural business can offer!
